Who are we?

La Vena di Vino is dedicated to people who love to taste life "slowly" and with authentic passion. We like to offer wines, things and food that respect tradition and quality. We love Volterra and Tuscany, this is where we have our roots and where we live. We have opened in 2001, taking back these old premises with its wine cellars, occupied until 1930 by the wine merchant "Peciotto". We have renovated the premises ourselves and we will never end to thank Danilo Vanni, mason, carpenter, welder, director, architect (without a degree), artist, designer and big drinker.

Today, Lucio, Bruno and Camilla (when she doesn't study!!) enjoy seeing “the mixing” of the usual regular local clients with tourists from all over the world in an atmosphere of taste, fun and music (two guitars are always available to clients and we often have a poetic karaoke).

You can also simply enter to visit our historical wine cellars...

... but it will be hard not to taste something!!

The Premises

CAFE: the Roma blend of the Livornese Arcaffè is a guaranteed coffee and with it we recommend Tuscan bread with our selection of jams and jellies.

WINE BAR: every day we offer a wide variety of wines (we can open any of the 400 labels we have) as well as brandies, grappas, vinsanto, brandy of Brunello and many others.

EATING TABLE: you can eat cold cuts, meats, cheeses, unique dishes from culinary artists, impossible menus... an original way to enjoy breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner.
We advise you to book before because of limited number of places.

WINE CELLAR: we select with passion our wine bottles, most of them from Tuscany, from great supertuscans to small productions not to be missed. We give discounts if you buy big quantities and we can ship wines all over the world.

EMPORIUM: from goat’s milk soaps to idromèle (honey liqueur), from hand-made chocolates to Volterran olive oil, from Scarperia's knives and cigar-cutters to wine gelatins to be combined to excellent cheeses (pecorino) from Volterra. We are constantly looking for products of quality, creativity, imagination and tradition.
